ROI Institute Awards Presented At CTR Conference

The ROI Institute Awards were presented at the CTR Conference on February 20, 2019. Three of the 16 award recipients traveled to Dallas, Texas, to receive their awards in person.

The ROI Institute Awards Program strives to recognize excellent practices in the application of the ROI Methodologyยฎ and honor the individuals and organizations for outstanding work in measurement, evaluation, and analytics.

โ€œIt is rewarding to Jack and me to present these awards,โ€ said Dr. Patti P. Phillips, president and CEO of ROI Institute. โ€œWe received an incredibly high number of submissions for this round of our awards program, some from previous award winners; others from new applicants. The diversity of projects to which people are applying the ROI Methodologyยฎ is exciting.โ€

Bette Kidane (SCL Health), Ginger Cross, Ph.D. (General Board of Higher Education and Ministry, The United Methodist Church), and Rev. Douglas Stewart (Memorial Regional Health System) were present to receive their awards. Ms. Kidane was presented with the Best Published Case Study award, Dr. Cross received the Best Practice Implementation award, and Rev. Stewart received the Most Innovative Approach to ROI.

โ€œIt was wonderful to get to see Bette, Ginger, and Doug and give them their awards,โ€ added Dr. Jack Phillips, chairman of ROI Institute. โ€œWe appreciate Dave Vance and the Center for Talent Reporting allowing us to present our awards at the conference. We plan to make this a permanent fixture at future conferences, the next of which will be hosted in Dallas Oct. 28โ€“29, 2020.

For this award period, we received a record number of submissions in all categories. Because of the unusual large numbers and the impressive quality of the submissions, our task of trying to select just one winner in each category became very difficult. This led us to modify the selection process slightly to provide for multiple winners in a category, but only if the submissions and applicants met certain top scores in our judging criteria. Consequently, there were multiple awards presented in four categories: Best ROI Impact Study, Most Innovative Approach to ROI, Best Published Case Study, and Best Practice Implementation.
