Is Your Consulting Working?
Measuring the Impact and ROI of Consulting

January 25, 2024
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Central Time

Whether an internal or external consultant, you know that consulting is an essential practice in organizations today. Consultants deliver value through much-needed expertise and help organizations in many ways.

The good news about consulting is that it’s a growing field. While large independent consulting firms are dominant in many organizations, smaller boutique or one-person consulting firms are also gaining popularity. The bad news is that many consultants do not have data to show they make a difference in the organization. As a result, consulting is often one of the first areas targeted during budget cuts.

According to government statistics, independent consulting firms have the highest failure rate, with as many as 80 percent failing within the first two years of operation. Even the big consulting firms fail to deliver results that shareholders appreciate, and they are often in the news headlines for all the wrong reasons.

This webinar will address these concerns by showing consultants how to calculate the impact and ROI of a consulting project and present the results to clients in a very compelling way using the ROI Methodology®, the most used evaluation system globally. This interactive session will provide consultants with a roadmap to measure consulting success.

Webinar participants will receive a copy of the presentation, job aids, and a free copy of The Consultant’s Scorecard: Tracking ROI and Bottom-Line Impact of Consulting Projects, 2nd Edition (McGraw Hill). This will be a valuable reference for all types of consultants. We encourage you to bring your consulting project to the session for discussion during the session.

After completing this session, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify the five levels of outcomes from consulting projects.
  2. Design consulting project to deliver impact and ROI.
  3. Conduct a follow-up ROI evaluation.
  4. Plan the next steps to evaluate your next consulting project.
