Home of Talent Development Reporting Principles (TDRp)
The Center for Talent Reporting (now Center for Talent Measurement and Reporting) was founded in October 2012 with the vision that Talent Development Reporting principles would become broadly accepted and widely employed as the world-class reporting standard for all human capital processes. Our members have access to a measures library with over 700 measures, and more than 60 sample statements and reports in excel. We have published two books on TDRp: Measurement Demystified and Measurement Demystified Field Guide.
In December 2023, ROI Institute acquired the intellectual property and mission of CTR. ROI Institute has supported CTR since our founding in 2012. Patti Phillips, CEO of the ROI Institute, has been a board member since 2015 and has served as chair since 2016. Jack Phillips, Chairman of the ROI Institute, was an original member of the executive council that guided the creation of TDRp in 2010-2012.
Talent Development Reporting Principles
TDRp is a measurement and reporting framework designed to help practitioners understand, define, communicate, select, report, analyze, and manage the key measures for their organization. It was developed in 2010-2012 by a group of industry thought leaders and practitioners who believed the time was right for learning to have a comprehensive framework like accountants have in the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). TDRp has evolved since then into an even more comprehensive but still simple framework consisting of four broad reasons to measure, three types of measures and five types of reports along with guidance on how to select the right measures and reports as well as how to run L&D or HR like a business.

TDRp Books
There are two books on TDRp for learning and development: Measurement Demystified (ATD, 2020) and Measurement Demystified Field Guide (ATD, 2021). The first describes TDRp in detail and includes definitions for more than 100 L&D measures. The second provides application opportunities and additional insights, with more than 100 exercises. These two books are the definitive guide to TDRP.
The Measurement Demystified Workshop
All you need to know about measurement and reporting to create your own strategy delivered in seven modules over four months. The first module each month will cover the key concepts and will be 4 hours. The second module will focus on application and additional topics. It will be two hours. The last module will focus on application of reporting in your own organization.
CTMR Webinars
Join us for an expanded, nine-part online series about the Talent Development Reporting principles and learn the latest thinking and techniques for measurement and reporting from one of the profession’s leading authorities. Each session will focus on one or two key topics and build on the previous sessions.
