A Record Number of Case Study Book are Under Development

Birmingham, Alabamaโ€”May 20, 2019. ROI Institute plans to publish ten ROI case study books in the next two years. These books will be published by traditional publishers, co-published with associations, or published by ROI Institute.

โ€œWe have an unprecedented demand to see case studies in a specific field or specialty,โ€ explained Jack J. Phillips, chairman of ROI Institute. โ€œTo date we have about 400 case studies published since the first ROI case study was published by the Association for Talent Development in 1994. These ten new books will push that number to over 500 case studies published.โ€

Publishing a case study has many benefits for the author and the professional field. For the author, itโ€™s a great way to demonstrate competence for conducting an ROI study and it provides appropriate recognition for the good work thatโ€™s being done. Also, itโ€™s an important vehicle to use with your internal work with colleagues, sponsors, and clients. By publishing your study, you are helping many others in your professional field who want to see more examples of how a particular program was implemented and evaluated.

โ€œParticipants in our workshops and speaking engagements love case studies,โ€ added Patti Phillips, CEO of ROI Institute. โ€œA good case study will tell a story, showing what created a particular programโ€™s development, and why the program was evaluated to the ROI level. Then, the studies show the step-by-step process of how itโ€™s done. They make great learning tools.โ€

Some organizations use the case studies in their team development process by having some team members analyze a case study and present it to the rest of the group. Case studies are also ideal for internal ROI training, as they enhance the image of the function and the brand of the organization.

Need Help?

In some cases, organizations want help with their first study. ROI Institute has an arrangement where a team of individuals can be involved in an ROI evaluation project. We work with them as partners to complete the ROI Study. With this approach, all the participants are involved in the case study, every member of the group receives the certification, and collectively they have a publishable case study at the end. This is a great way to build capability; earn recognition quickly; and gain on-the-job training as the study is conducted.
